Accommodation

Just north of Lillehammer, close to the mountain and Hafjell Ski Resort you will find the beautiful and adventurous Hunderfossen. In natural and calm surroundings you will find activities and experiences - an adventure in the summertime as well as in wintertime. The hotel is situated only 400 m from Hunderfossen Familypark and Winterpark, 14 km from Lillehammer and 3 km from Hafjell.

Hotel
The hotel has 40 rooms and is characterized by a pleasant atmosphere and old tradition, representing the best of local building culture. The rooms are tastefully decorated, and you can also order practical family rooms and handicap rooms. All rooms have high speed internet access (WLAN), shower, wc, TV and minibar.  At the hotel you will find a cosy lobby with fireplace, bar, restaurant, saunas and sunbed.

ONLINE BOOKING

Cabins and apartments
If you wish to stay in a cabin or an apartment, we have 61 units close to the hotel. (28 units for rent the whole year.) The cabins and apartments have different standards, ranging from rudimentary to very high standard. If you stay here you can feel free to use our hotel facilities such as bar, restaurant, saunas and sunbed.

The cabins have 2-8 beds the apartments have 6-8 beds.

Final cleaning:
Additional fee for final cleaning is obligatoric in units with shower and wc.
 

ONLINE BOOKING

Hunderfossen Snowhotel
In the heart of Hunderfossen Winterpark you will find the Snowhotel. With elegant lighting and location close to the fairytale castle this is an unique accomodation experience!

The Snowhotel has capacity for up to 22 guests and offers beautiful ice decorated rooms for guests who search for the unique experiences. Individual guests can stay overnight when the Winterpark is open. When the Winterpark is closed, the Snowhotel opens for groups of minimum 12 persons on request during the whole season, from the beginning of January until the middle of March.

Hunderfossen Snowhotel has common reception service with Hunderfossen Hotell & Resort and lists facilities as saunas/hot showers, restaurant, livingroom with open fireplace and conference rooms.

The room temperature will vary from -3 to -7 degrees celcius and you will have a nice and warm sleep in comfortable sleeping bags on top of sheepskin.

Dining

Fossekroa
Our Restaurant Fossekroa was first established in 1962 – the same year as the Hunderfossen Power Station was build. Restaurant Fossekroa has been redecorated and is today a homelike restaurant with a warm atmosphere. 

The restaurant seats 100 persons, and the opening hours varies with the season. Please contact the front desk for more information about opening hours.

The hotel has several cosy reception rooms suited for all kinds of arrangements. Please contact us and we will help you find a pleasant room suited for your needs.

Trollsalen Restaurant
You will find Trollsalen Restaurant in the Fairy Tale Cave made by the Norwegian artist Ivo Caprino (Hunderfossen Familypark).

The ceiling is held up by 6 giant trolls and at the walls you will see scenary from Norwegian fairy tales made by Asbjørnsen & Moe. With a warm light from the fireplace and the candle lights, you will experience a magic atmosphere together with trolls. The menu is build up of the best ingredients from the mountain, river and forrest. 

In the winter season, Trollsalen Restaurant follows the opening hours of the Hunderfossen Winterpark. 

Trollsalen Restaurant opens for groups/arrangements all year round. (minimum 30 persons). A guided tour in Ivo Caprinos Supervideograf and Fairy Tale Cave is included in the price of the menu. An extended guided tour can be ordered.

Activities

Hunderfossen Familypark
Guarded by a 14 meter high troll, and behind the gates of the 37 meter tall fairy tale castle the treasure of the Norwegian folk stories is kept safe in Hunderfossen Family park. Step insde and be a part of the fairy tales yourself.

In the unique and mysterious atmosphere of Hunderfossen Family Park you will meet the prince and the princess, the King and the Queen, trolls and many other odd characters from the old Norwegain folk stories.

If you stay at our hotel, you are in walking distance to Hunderfossen Winterpark. Here you will discover an enchanting winter park beyond everything you have ever seen before. A magical fairytale world that can not be seen or visited before the sun goes down and the dark night takes control. We provide different activities for groups all year around!

Kids Farm Hunderfossen
Do you like animals? Visit our charming 19th century smallholding. Here you can pet and cuddle with the animals. Maybe the kids want to try feeding the animals themselves? The farm features Norwegian farm animals – both small and large – and a genuine fox! Kids Farm Hunderfossen is just a short walk away, 300 meters from the hotel. Open from June-August.

Hunderfossen has it`s own train stop. (150 m from Hotel/Familiy Park).
You can travel directly by train from Oslo Airport Gardermoen to Hunderfossen.
